Bobby East nabbed for ‘porn’ and will appear in court on Monday

Police have arrested a Lusaka based musician and his girlfriend for producing pornographic and obscene materials.

The musician popularly known as Bobby East and his girlfriend Ruth Mukanga have been arrested and charged with Producing and distributing pornographic materials.

Police Spokesperson Charity Chanda says Bobby East and Ruth were arrested on Saturday and will appear in court on Monday and have since been released on Police Bond.

Bobby East features in a video which has gone viral on social media taking turns in a sexual act which lasted 12 minutes in the footage.

In another development, Police in Lusaka have arrested a Kabwe based Pastor for aggravated robbery at Manda Hill Shopping Center which happened around 18 hours hours on Friday.

Chanda has identified the Kabwe Pastor as Standwel Silundu of house Number 93 Lufulu Road Lukanga, Kabwe.

She says the pastor and his accomplice were armed with an AK 47 Rifle when they abducted a Lusaka man who they waylaid to Standard Chartered Bank ATM so that he can withdraw money for them.

Ms. Chanda says this was after they abducted Kabwe Kamfwa of Lusaka’s Chilenje Township and took him to North mead so that he can withdraw money for them at an ATM but failed.

The two were only arrested after the victim alerted Police as they waited for him to withdraw money at a Manda Hill ATM .

Ms Chanda says Police have since recovered the AK 47 Rifle and the two have been remanded in custody.

Musician Bobby East Goes Into Hidding As His Sex Partner Apologises To Zambians

Sources have revealed that the whereabouts of Musician Bobby East are not known, and could have gone into hiding trying to escape authorities. Meanwhile his partner in the alleged sex tape Ruth Mukanga has apologized to Zambians for the embarrassment and distress caused by the video.

Her manager  B- Kissy Kabanza  said Ruth bore the responsibility over the video but that it was not meant for public consumption.

Earlier Kanbanza issued a  statement on social media  saying Ruth was asking for forgiveness from all Zambians over the video.

The 12 minute video clip which stars Ruth and Bobby East engaged in Sex has been circulating on social media including whatsup and blogger.

Kabanza said the 21 year old former miss NIPA had been traumatized by how things have quickly happened in her life which she described as unfortunate and regrettable.

Kabanza said in her own words, Ruth said: “please accept my deepest apologies for my mistake in regard to the reports that have been going round in the past few days. It wasn’t my intention to create such an awkward and embarrassing situation.

This is probably the hardest thing I have ever experienced in life. I thank those who are helping

me through this difficult time.”

Kabanza also quote Ruth as stating: ” I accept full responsibility  for my actions and decisions and for taking everyone on this traumatic journey. I’m sorry if I have hurt anyone especially millions of my fellow youths, elders and everyone affected but this.”

Musician Kanene Denied Bail

The Supreme Court has thrown out a bail application pending appeal by Musician General Kanene.

Supreme Court Judge Albert Wood ruled that the appeal case will be heard in less than two years and there is no possibility that Clifford Dimba alias General Kanene would have completed his 18 year jail sentence for defilement.

Judge Wood has ruled that Kanene will remain in custody until when his case comes up for hearing next year.

General Kanene’s lawyer Treshford Chali has however disclosed that he will appeal against the ruling before a full bench of the Supreme Court.

“What was happening today was the bail hearing application to a single Judge but he has denied it. So the option we have is to make the same application to a full Supreme Court bench,” he said.

General Kanene was sentenced to 18 years imprisonment for defilement by the High Court this year.

And Mr. Chali has refuted reports that his client is on hunger strike.

“These reports that Kanene collapsed and he is not eating are not true. My client is in high spirit and he is coping very well,” Mr Chali said.
